Choosing wallpaper is not easy. There is a wide choice here on our website and also online. We all know: the more choice there is, the more difficult it becomes to choose.
Unfortunately we cannot facilitate this process, but we have some suggestions that we hope will be useful.
The design of the wallpaper
First impact or long duration?
To choose a wallpaper it is useful to know what effect it should have. The difference between a very elegant paper that does not dominate and a scenographic wallpaper of great first impact is remarkable. Knowing what role the wallpaper should have in your case is essential.
Often the tendency is to choose a wallpaper of great impact, because it attracts our attention. Those images will always dominate the room and it is important to consider whether in the long run, this is desirable.
Wallpapers with simple geometries that have little impact, create an atmosphere and for certain situations this is better than a dominating wallpaper that attracts all attention.
Match colours with some furniture?
Customizing a wallpaper creates the possibility of combining the colours that are already present in a room.
If you have a sofa with color X, maybe it is elegant to create a wallpaper with small geometries in the same color X on a different wall than the one on which the sofa rests. Or you have pillows with a coloured pattern, or a carpet ... we can create a wallpaper that has a similar pattern and / or has the same colours.
Sometimes it is nicer to have a slightly different color than the one already present.
The colours when printing are made in a different way than the colours of paint, but by giving us the RAL or Pantone code we can get very close.
Match a pattern?
We can create a wallpaper with a geometry that is already present in the room where you would like to have the wallpaper (we evaluate from case to case if it is feasible and how long it takes us to copy the pattern, once you send us a picture of what you are looking for).
If you have, for example, beautiful curtains with a geometry or pattern that you want to repeat in another corner of the same space, we can help out. The colour is freely chosen and even though the colours of the print are always a bit different, we can get very close to the colours of the RAL and Pantone sample books.

The type of wallpaper
Glossy or matte wallpaper?
Very generally you could divide the wallpaper types into two groups, shiny or opaque.
Shiny wallpaper is used less, because in almost all cases, having a wall that shines and reflects light does not give the desired effect. With a glossy wallpaper you can see the image of the paper only partially because the light (from a window or a lamp) is reflected. In some cases a glossy card is indispensable, for example where an image must shine because it should appear wet or it shows a light at night.
The opaque wallpaper is almost always used because it does not reflect light but absorbs it and creates a warmer and more tranquil atmosphere.
The wallpaper surface ... smooth, embossed, canvased ...?
The surface of wallpaper is made in many different ways. By now there are leather-like wallpapers, rough walls, fine unfinished walls, canvas to paint on, coarse, irregular canvas, etc. There is a real wide choice.
We have different wallpapers from which customers can choose. In general it is good practice to choose a non-smooth paper in case the images are not of great quality. A wallpaper with canvas or with another irregular background, masks the defects of the files a little (unfortunately only a little).
In other cases, when you have a very good image quality, the choice is completely free and depends only on your taste. A smooth paper gives a more modern touch and it is less evident that it is a wallpaper, if attacked well.
